This is the upbeat version of my arrangement, the one from my Sunday Hymn Serenade video with The Sweet Sound Revival that millions of people have watched. This hymn accompaniment track, sometimes called a performance track, soundtrack, or instrumental track, is played on piano, bass, acoustic guitars, banjo, mandolin, and violins, with the melody left open for your voice.

Hear a 30 second preview

The full band coming back in after the stop

Your browser does not support audio playback.

Looking for a slower, more reflective arrangement? People use it for special music on Sunday morning, for gospel sings and homecomings, for revival meetings, for celebration of life services, for singalongs at nursing homes, senior living communities, and family gatherings, and simply for singing at home. You get a full country gospel band without needing musicians in the room.

What you get

Two MP3 versions, with and without the violin melody

Printable PDF lyric sheet

A reference recording, so you always have something to sing against

Instant download after checkout, yours to keep

Cleared for live performance and personal use

There are no vocals on either version. The one with the violin melody is lovely for learning the hymn or singing along at home. The one without leaves the melody completely open, which is the version you want when you are the voice out front. The arrangement drives along at 101 BPM with banjo, mandolin, and acoustic guitars in a bluegrass gospel style, and the band takes an instrumental verse and chorus before carrying you into the final verse.

Track details

Title: When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder (Upbeat Version)
Music and lyrics by: James M.
